We are in the middle of the Summer, happy moment and maximum expression of many elements of our environment.
The sun that accompanies us in our day-to-day activities strengthens our defenses and prepares us for winter hardships, reminding us that men do not only live of work but also (especially?) of every moment of natural enjoyment, making them feelso harmoniously part of the universe.
The Summer wind, especially the sea one, that brings us together the smells of salt and brushes, emphasizes our status as "canes in the wind”, as fragile beings, yet so rooted and intertwined with the life of the cosmos. It is already time for reflections, amazement and dreams, just like that of the midnight Summer by the divine Shakespeare, where everything is confused and blended and then transformed and, in the light ofday, melt into a great laughing liberation.
Our magazine greets you and leaves you to the August rebirth, full of vital momentum. See you again in September.
What can we do if Milan, in addition to the other countless advantages, also has the passion for jazz!?
For many years, the world's best international musicians have been performing on the stage of the legendary Blue Note (jazz temple in Isola, the area with great artistic frenzy), while at times the Navigli clubs host emerging groups and affirmed voices at the same time. In addition, at the Botanical Garden of Città Studi, from now to the end of September, the Musical Summer Music Festival “Area Musica Estate” takes place, showing the best protagonists in contemporary jazz: from Paolo Fresu to Tony Allen and Sara Mckenzie.
The botanical garden of Via Golgi, the venue of the event, will open to these beautiful music evenings with news for the public: numerous meetings dedicated to well-being and good food organized along with important partners, such as the Seminario Permanente Luigi Veronelli and Associazioni Talenti Organizzati, but also the Milanese Theater Manufacturers, to show that live music, food and imagination are for everyone a true rebirth. Evviva Milan, which flies on jazz notes.
"Area Musica Estate" - from June 7th to September 28th

Gian Lupo Osti, an renowned protagonist of Post-War Italian industrial recovery and manager of many multinational companies, is a good example of environmental harmony. Passionate about woods and plants since childhood, he maintains this naturalistic interest alongside his professional activities.
His love for peonies in particular drives him to exotic researches, especially in China, where professional botanists dedicated him a particular variety he has discovered (peonia ostii).
This diary is a set of memories and wise reflections on the respect for the life cycle and on the teachings, both gentle and essential, that nature simply offers us with its existence.
"However, we have not yet completely digested and made ours the common origin of life. We like too much to consider us, the mankind, as something absolutely incomparable and exceptional. Yet, if we observe elementary facts, under everybody’s eyes, water is necessary for the life of every living thing, whether it may be plants, animals, or men. And death is also the common destiny of every living thing ... I find this affection very gratifying".
Have a nice Rebirth, therefore: Nature is always a great teacher.

The wonders of our land never stop toenchant, especially when they catch us in times of distraction, awakening our sensesand intellect. In Liguria’s Riviera di Ponente, just a few kilometers away fromthe French border, there is the town of Bordighera, which is renowned for itsbeautiful flowering gardens.
The specificity of these gardens is that theywelcome both the typical species of the Mediterranean bush and the tropicalones, which can adapt to a diferent territory thanks to the warm and windyclimate of this corner of the world. Created by the German botanist LudwigWinter, these magnificent Gardens are protected by the Superintendence forArchitectural and Landscape Properties of Liguria.
The Gardens were developedon a large pre-existing palm forest, that stretched between the beach and theVallone del Sasso: they were born as a nursery but soon they gained greatnaturalistic interest because of the large variety of native and tropicalplants there present.
Winter also gave great impetus to the cultivation offlowers and plants for cosmetic use, particularly in perfumery, providing rawmaterials to fragrance creators who are still operating in Italy and France. This place is surely worth a trip to Liguria.
Have a nice & blossomingrebirth!
